City National elects Robert Tuttle to board
City National Corp. on Thursday said Robert H. Tuttle was elected to its board and the board of its City National Bank unit.
Tuttle, 66, served on City National's boards from 2002 to 2005, when he was named U.S. Ambassador to the Court of St. James's in London. He also served on the board of the Bank of Arizona in the 1980s and 1990s.
He is co-managing partner of the Tuttle-Click Automotive Group, which owns 20 franchises in 15 locations in Orange County, Calif., and Tucson, Ariz. First working in the auto industry in 1965, he held the same title with Tuttle-Click from 1989 to 2005, and rejoined the company in November after serving in the ambassador post for almost four years.
In 1982, Tuttle joined the White House staff of former President Ronald Reagan. He was named assistant to the president and director of presidential personnel in 1985.
City National shares closed Thursday trading down 44 cents at $49.93.
